What is Affordable Housing?
Affordable Housing provides safe, secure rental homes for people on low to moderate incomes. It’s designed to bridge the gap between social housing and the private rental market.
Affordable Housing may be suitable if your income is too high to qualify for social housing, but you still find it difficult to afford a private rental.
With Affordable Housing, you’ll have a quality home at a rent that’s set fairly and linked to your income, making it genuinely affordable.
Do I qualify for Affordable Housing?
You may be eligible if you:
- are an Australian citizen and/or permanent resident
- are currently employed
- have a household income below the following limits (before tax):
- One adult: $78,100 per financial year
- Two adults: $117,200 per financial year
- One adult with one child: $101,500 per financial year
- One adult with two children: $124,900 per financial year

Rent is set at 30% of your household’s gross income, capped at 74.9% of market rent. Eligibility requirements apply.
The Home

The Bower is conveniently located within walking distance of public transport, and close to supermarkets and local shops.
This lovely home features:

- Single lock‑up garage with internal access
- Internal laundry with direct outdoor access
- Built‑in wardrobes in all bedrooms
- Energy‑efficient features including low‑maintenance gardens, rainwater tanks and solar panels to help reduce electricity bills
Rent: up to $540 per week
Bond: $2,800
The successful applicant will be required to pay the bond in full, plus two weeks’ rent in advance, before signing the lease.

- You are in housing need
- You do not currently own residential property
- You are currently employed
