Questions

How long have you been with Housing Trust?

I have just clocked over 1 year with the Housing Trust & what a great year it has been!

Why did you apply to work at Housing Trust?

Growing up in Social Housing has always been a big part of my life & to be able to work & help other people just like me to live in a safe & affordable home is very rewarding.

What is your current role?

I am currently a Property Services Officer in the Maintenance Team. I work on the Responsive Maintenance side, which means any tenants that call will be able to report maintenance issues to us & we will organise a contractor to attend & repair in a timely manner.

What have you learnt from working at Housing Trust?

Housing Trust has taught me that everyday people can find themselves in financial struggle at any time & the Housing Trust does everything they can to be able to reach out & help these people. Our tenants deserve safe & secure housing, and support services they may need to navigate through this.

What have you learnt about Community Housing from working with us?

Working at Housing Trust has taught me safe & secure homes are a must. The rental market prices are rising too high for people to be able to afford to live in. There is such a high demand for more housing for everyday families just like mine. I have learnt there is an ongoing fight to be able to provide more of these homes & I have become very passionate about it.

What is your advice for people applying to work at Housing Trust?

I would highly recommend anyone that would like a rewarding career change to join the Housing Trust Team. There is lots of opportunities to learn & grow within the organisation.

What do you love most about your job?

I love the Housing Trust spirit & everyone is equal. We have great leadership team which makes you feel you are a very valued member of the team. Engaging with the tenants & the thank you, we receive from them is very rewarding.

What’s something people don’t know about your job?

Apart from the daily tasks involved in maintenance, we are frequently in training courses to further our skills on how we engage with our tenants & provide the best service possible. There is always room for growth & Housing Trust provide great facilities & support us through these courses.
