Housing Trust calls for partnership with WCC

Housing Trust is calling on Wollongong City Council to formally partner with them to provide social and affordable housing in the Illawarra.

Housing Trust CEO Michele Adair says council needs to invest in the future of people desperately seeking housing by working on solutions to a growing problem within the region.

Supporting MP Stephen Jones’ call for $9.2m in commonwealth funding to be directed to social housing in order to ease the critical shortage of housing stock in the region, Ms Adair said Housing Trust could work with council to deliver suitable accommodation.

Record number of Housing Trust tenants awarded Tylah West Education Scholarship

A record 53 Housing Trust tenants aged five to 50-plus were awarded the annual Tylah West Education Scholarship this week (15 April), marking a significant increase from the first three scholarships in 2016 and more than doubling last year’s number.
The Traders in Purple development is unusual in that it sections off 25 per cent of homes for locals, first-home buyers, essential workers and affordable housing.
