Housing Trust sponsored the Business Illawarra Future of Housing Summit, bringing together state and local leaders, industry and community organisations to focus on housing in the Illawarra.
It was valuable to see people from across the region come together to discuss both the challenges and opportunities facing housing locally, and to share perspectives on what is needed now and into the future.
The Summit included a panel discussion with leaders such as the Honourable Rose Jackson MP and the Honourable Paul Scully MP, alongside representatives from across the housing and community sectors. Housing Trust CEO Amanda Winks joined the panel, speaking to the social purpose of community housing and the importance of recognising housing as a basic right.
