Never imagining that escaping an abusive relationship would result in Jo ever seeing herself facing homelessness. The reality was it did.
She went from working for 30 years in a stable role at UOW to finding herself in a position where she and her daughter may possibly have to live in her car. When Jo found out that she was successful in securing a unit through Housing Trust, she was so happy, relieved and – most of all – felt safe.
“My opportunity now for enjoying my life has been so positively impacted with the care and help of Community Housing. Eva and I will be forever grateful and always there to extend the help we received to share with our community.”
“I chose to hold one of my indoor plants as I didn’t know if I could enjoy a little garden, having never lived in an apartment, but my unit has the most amazing balcony and my plants bring so much joy and calm.”
